Coventry Woods Neighborhood Association

For more than 20 years, the all-volunteer Coventry Woods Neighborhood Association has worked to “protect, preserve and promote Coventry Woods.”

Every year, we ask current members to renew their membership, and for non-members to join. The cost is $30 per household. Members and non-members alike benefit from the not-for-profit CWNA.

The CWNA networks with CMPD, city hall and civic organizations to make Coventry Woods a safer, more vibrant and desirable place to live.

The CWNA brings us together. Family events open to all at Cedarwood Park in 2022 included The Spring Fling, the back-to-school Popsicles in the Park and the 2nd Annual Halloween Party in the Park. Also last year, the CWNA began informal monthly brunch or after-work meet-ups at a variety eateries or nightspots close to home. They’re great places to relax and chat with your neighbors.

The CWNA reaches out to help. In August, snack and treat baskets were given to teachers at Idlewild, McClintock and East Meck; extra candy at the Halloween event was donated to Atrium Main Hospital, election workers at Independence Library and staffers at Ortho Carolina and Idlewild Elementary. In November, CWNA members and friends made possible 18 Thanksgiving food boxes for the Charlotte Rescue Mission.

We touch every street. Every July 3, in advance of Independence Day, CWNA volunteers distribute American flags, free of charge, to each of the 502 front yards in Coventry Woods. Working with TreesCharlotte, the CWNA helped residents receive free trees last spring. This spring, the CWNA’s traditional Pine Straw Sale will return.

We let you know what’s going on. We administer the Coventry Woods Neighborhood page on Facebook, have an Instagram page @coventrywoods28212, maintain our website -- www.coventrywoods.org – and oversee the Coventry Woods page on Nextdoor.com. We also keep you posted on news, neighbors and events through our Woods Watch newsletter, which CWNA volunteers distribute to every house in Coventry Woods.

Keeping Coventry Woods stable and prosperous requires your help. Please renew your membership or become a new member. We welcome volunteers -- and want to hear your ideas!
